The Roots
This is where it all began; as a little boy I always wanted to become an actor. At drama school I learned a great deal, but I also discovered that directing suits me even better. That doesn’t mean I don’t miss acting from time to time, and that it is therefore so wonderful to return to my roots every now and then.
I also have no problem performing under someone else’s direction. It is very refreshing to sometimes experience the creative mind of others, and even though I sometimes think that, as a director, I would approach a scene differently, I am able to put that aside quite easily.

Versatile Actor
As an actor, you naturally want to be as versatile as possible. For me, it’s not any different. I used to want to become an actor because I loved musicals. At drama school, there was a strong push to move away from musical theatre. Through that, I discovered stage acting, for which I developed a deep love. I enjoy both classical and modern theatre, but I did want to make a statement, so I graduated with the production ‘tick, tick... BOOM!’ – a musical.
I grew up to become an actor who sings. I focus on theatre, classical stage work, film, television, and musical theatre. With techniques from Stanislavski, Chubbuck, and Meisner in my toolkit, I can deliver performances in multiple forms and from different approaches; whether it is broad or subtle, I am comfortable with it.
